Mohamed Elmasry

Mohamed Elmasry has built technology companies for more than 20 years. In 2004, he founded his first company in Luxor, Egypt. It gave hotels automated internet services.

He then co-founded Silicon Vision, a semiconductor company. Its wireless technology was sold to global firms, including Intel and Sony. Later, he took on management roles in the Gulf's cybersecurity sector.

After 2011, he returned to Egypt. He first planned a smart-home product. Then he turned to a problem he saw in almost every business: customers repeating themselves, waiting in queues and feeling unheard. That problem became Tactful AI, which he co-founded with Mohammed Hassan in 2016.

In 2022, Dstny, a Belgian business communications group, acquired Tactful. In July 2025, the founders bought the company back to grow it independently. Today, Mohamed leads Tactful AI across Egypt, the Gulf and the UK. The company is headquartered in Cambridge, with engineering in Cairo.

Mohamed believes in growing talent from within. He prefers to train fresh graduates rather than hire only established professionals, so they can become the next generation of builders. His long-term aim is a model for building globally competitive technology from Egypt and the Middle East.
